one side in polished boxwood, the other side in ebony, with French style knights, in the original Jaques box with a sliding lid and green label: 'Set of Chessmen...J. J. & SON LTD LONDON', together with the original printed leaflet: Instructions for Playing Chess, including an advertisement for Hudson Maxim's New Game of War.

Condition: Excellent. Nice and original. A few minor tears and rubbing to the slightly grubby label.
