A Collection of six East India “John Company” Unstained Ivory Chess Pieces, Berhempore, circa 1790
three pieces from the British East India company side (including a camel bishop in top hat and holding a flintlock pistol and two sepoy pawns in East India Company uniforms with muskets), and three pieces from the Indian Native Forces side (including a horseman knight, and two Indian infantry pawns), the bishop 8.2cm high, the pawn 6.3cm high (6).
