A charming 19th century Nuremberg wooden 'Toy" chess set
one side partially stained black, the other side left natural, kings, queens and bishops with painted faces, the king 5.5cm high, the pawn 2.5cm high, in the accompanying 19th century box with sliding drawer to the front and blue and white chess board in glass to the top, 26cm wide, 7.5cm high.
