An above-average vintage Mah Jong set with pretty, decorative bone inlay. The bone tiles are especially nice, with crisp, clean and un-rubbed engraving. Complete and with the original 1920’s instruction pamphlet, dice box and Ming pot.

During the great mahjong craze of the 1920s, sets were made in workshops in the Shanghai area with the tiles carved from imported Chicago cattle bone and then exported back to America and Europe.
